Safety Locking Implants
Large Fragment Locking Trauma Implants are advanced orthopedic devices used to stabilize major fractures in large bones such as the femur, tibia, and humerus. These implants typically utilize 4.5 mm cortical screws and 5.0 mm locking screws with plates designed to provide angular stability and secure fixation, even in complex or osteoporotic bone conditions.
The locking mechanism between the screw and plate minimizes the risk of screw loosening, improves load distribution, and supports early mobilization. Manufactured from biocompatible materials such as stainless steel or titanium, these implants are well-suited for high-load-bearing applications in trauma surgery.
They feature combi-holes—figure-eight–shaped openings with a threaded hole on one side and an adjoining oblique, non-threaded hole on the other—allowing for versatile fixation options.
Large fragment locking implants are widely used in the treatment of comminuted, multi-fragmentary, or periarticular fractures that demand strong and stable fixation.
