A Dynamic External Fixator is an external fixation device designed to allow controlled movement at the fracture or joint site, promoting functional recovery while maintaining stability. It is especially useful in periarticular fractures and in situations where early joint mobilization is beneficial for healing and preventing stiffness.
Indications:
- Intra-articular fractures, particularly of the Phalanges, Wrist, or Elbow
- Fractures near joints requiring early mobilization
- Ligamentous injuries around small joints
- Pilon fractures and Tibial Plateau fractures
- Post-traumatic joint stiffness prevention
- Temporary stabilization with functional rehabilitation
